Dance Journey Through The 5 Elements

When we experience sorrow, grief, fear, anger etc, we often tend to not fully process and express it. Over the years we get good at numbing or refusing to deal with the stored and stuck emotions. Through dance we have the opportunity to move and free those emotions.

When we consciously focus on the emotion and dance it we get to express the emotion and release it from our body.

In the Dance Journey through the 5 elements, we first dance and connect with the challenging aspect of the element, then we do a brief release process, and then we dance with the empowered aspect of the element. We then move along through the elements, starting with Fire, (Joy/over excitement) then Earth, (Reflection/Worry) Metal, (Clarity of Vision/Grief) Water, (Wisdom/fear) and Wood, (Creativity/Anger) This part of the Dance Journey is guided and cued by the facilitator assisting you in aligning to each segment and talking you through the release process after each challenging emotion.
The final part of the dance journey is music only, for integration and personal time. This is very powerful somatic work and can be extremely transformative and freeing. Laughter, howling, yelling, sweat and tears are common.
All are welcome and this is work on your own, there is no pressure to do anything that you are not comfortable with. The space is set to foster safely- come as you are and express as you like while respecting others.
